Die Location

Wild, warm, homely, different - a place for those who think differently.

The wild Michel in the heart of the Black Forest

At an altitude of almost 1000 meters, surrounded by deep green forests, an ancient Black Forest farm awoke from its hibernation in 2021.

With creative vision and a zest for action, a hostel was created for anyone looking for a place to rest and relax away from everyday life.

A cult venue for events, concerts and festivals - with a restaurant, campsite and other accommodation surrounded by the dark beauty of the Black Forest.

More about the bands

From punk rock to pirate metal to rock “n” roll. From thrash metal to alternative rock to death metal – there's something for everyone at Heavy Michel Days 2026.

See, read and hear for yourself.

Dust Bolt.webp

Dust Bold

Modern Thrash Metal

Dust Bolt – Germany's metal band of the younger generation! Not even of legal age at the time, they won the Wacken Metal Battle Germany. This was followed by a record deal and a successful world tour including the USA and Asia. And they are continuing to build on this success!

‘Break clichés and maintain traditions! Our mission is to make metal a powerful voice for young people again,’ is the unanimous opinion of the Munich band. "Kids today don't relate to Ozzy Osbourne and other veterans of the boomer generation. They need music that reflects their contemporary emotions. Anger at politics and society, disorientation, everyday worries and fears about the future make the world an uncertain place. They need an outlet for this – and something to give them courage again.

No other genre of music can convey this as authentically as metal," says frontman Lenny.

The Spirit.webp

The Spirit

Melodic Death / Black

Founded in Saarbrücken in 2015, THE SPIRIT have emerged from the depths of the German extreme metal underground to spread their cosmic terror across the world.

With a magnificent blend of black metal and death metal, the band's music is characterised by impressive guitar riffs and melodies.

Their lyrics and concepts often revolve around an astronomical theme – the band combines a misanthropic worldview with cosmic metaphors and a call to view our often narrow-minded and egocentric existence in the larger context of the entire universe.

Basilisk_Pressebild.webp

Basilisk

Dark, Gothic, Melodic Metal

The band Basilisk stands for varied, melodic dark metal with German and English lyrics. With powerful elements from death and power metal as well as melodic influences from gothic and symphonic metal, Basilisk has been thrilling audiences since 1996. But they also play medieval, rocking or danceable EBM songs.

Anyone who has been to Heavy Michel Days knows the band from Villingen-Schwenningen. They rocked the stage at HMDs back in 2024.

Sic Zone.jpg

Sic Zone

Industrial / Groove Metal

Just 15 minutes of SIC ZONE a day helps combat harmful external influences.": a promise that the Cologne-based band impressively delivers on with their successful mix of industrial, death and groove metal. The five guys cannot be pigeonholed into any particular musical genre and know how to thrill metal fans of all kinds with their energetic live shows.

But why Sic Zone? SIC ZONE explore their own identity and reflect on personal experiences – whether positive or negative. They rebel against opinion makers and the dumbing down of the masses and have made it their mission to shake up their fellow human beings through music. Nothing is sugar-coated in their expressive songs; instead, raw emotions are shouted out loud, unfiltered. The band wants to take their audience on an inspiring journey and does everything in its power to send people into ecstasy. Innovative music and an attitude to life that captures the spirit of the times – welcome to SIC ZONE!

The Privateer.webp

The Privateer

Heavymetal, modern Deathmetal, Folkmetal

With full sails, the six-member crew of ‘The Privateer’ has been on a voyage of discovery since 2007. Inspired by classic heavy metal, modern death metal and folk metal, the Freiburg-based buccaneers create their own distinctive sound.

The alternation between clean and scream vocals and the use of a violin give the band's sound a special touch. With their songs, they tell stories of hidden treasures, distant worlds, old sailor's yarns and the myths of the sea.

lacuna.webp

Lacuna

Alternative / Independent Rock

In 2002, LACUNA released their critically acclaimed debut album ‘and the frog says...’ with producer Guido Lucas (Union Youth, Blackmail, Harmful), and the band played on the main stage at the Bizarre Festival, among other venues.

‘and the frog says...’ was then released in a modified version (including the EP hit ‘Fault Finder’ (VISIONS All Areas Track, among others)) in the United Kingdom in 2005. Among other things, there were great reviews/features in KERRANG, in the English METAL HAMMER (including the sampler contribution ‘Valvoline’) and even the Daily Star (!) gave the band an album review.

After their second album ‘nuée ardente’ and the bridging EP “rotosphere”, the current album ‘oceangoing’ was released, produced by Kurt Ebelhäuser (DONOTS, BLACKMAIL, PASCOW, among others) and mastered in London by Richard Kayvan (BELASCO, among others).

So you can look forward to evenings filled with powerful guitars, gripping grooves, swirling bass and fine melodies.

Black Metal, Post-Metal and Hardcore from (FR)

Ueber Ich.webp

ÜberIch

Indie-Rock

ÜBER ICH is a daring leap into the unknown, a coffee party with the best. A carefree gathering where honesty, love and respect are the fundamental virtues.

ÜBER ICH is indie rock with German lyrics. Dani. Luk. Stoi.

Three dots on blank stationery

Rezzos Komplott.webp

Rezzos Komplott

Garage Rock’n Roll / Blues/ Punk

The band led by singer-songwriter Rezzo (Acoustical South, Sourmash, among others) plays a mixture of garage rock “n” roll, blues, punk and alternative rock, with lyrics exclusively in German. Dirty, direct, thoughtful, political and sometimes melancholic.

It rumbles, it crashes, it sings, it cries, it laughs, and it rocks “n” rolls a lot.

Churchville Gang.webp

Churchville Gang

Black Forest Rock `n Roll

The Churchville Gang is a trio from the Black Forest, which has existed in its current line-up since 2013.

The band, which mostly performs its own compositions,
is inspired by 50s and 60s rockabilly, but does not shy away from powerful blues rock à la ZZ Top.

Between their varied original
songs, they also serve up classics by Elvis Presley, CCR and Johnny Burnette! The overall package results in sweat-inducing Black Forest rock “n” roll that puts you in a good mood and gets your dancing feet pumping!

Backbone Hurts.webp

Backbone Hurts

Punk`N`Roll

What began in 2016 as a crazy idea during a beer-fuelled gathering is now a band bursting with motivation.

We're not doing it to get rich, and we've also said goodbye to the idea of becoming rock stars with wildly screaming groupies! What remains is the desire to make music, LIVE and LOUD !!!!!

A mixture of honest rock “n” roll and dirty punk – that's our thing, in short: punk “n” roll!

With sounds ranging from Green Day, Ramones and Elvis to ZZ Top, but also our own creations, we'll blow you away with our concentrated good vibes from the stage until the last one shakes off their tired

backbones.

So see you soon at one of our gigs,  Punk'n'roll 4 EVER!

FAQ

How many visitors are expected?

We expect 400 visitors at the Heavy Michel Days 2025 - Moon Howling.

Will there be several stages?

There is a main stage on the festival grounds. The after-show party takes place in our party barn.

Is the festival site always accessible?

The festival area is open on Thursday from 16:00 to 23:30 and Friday and Saturday from 16:00 to 00:30. Before 4 p.m. there are lots of activities on our grounds so that you don't get bored.

From when to when do the bands play?

The bands play on Thursdays from approx. 17:30 to 23:00 and Friday/Saturday from approx. 17:30 to 24:00.

What is the camping situation like?

Your camping ticket is already included in your festival ticket. This applies to tent camping. You can choose your campsite freely on the camping meadow - a camp is also possible. However, our space is limited, so you cannot camp next to your car or bring large items.

If you arrive by caravan, you will need a separate caravan ticket. The caravan site is equipped with electricity and running water.

Is it possible to travel by public transport?

We are an old Black Forest farm in Linach near Furtwangen. In the middle of beautiful nature, but somewhat secluded. It is possible to come by bus, but it needs to be well planned as there are only on-call buses at weekends.

It is best to form car pools and come by car.

Are open fires and barbecues allowed?

Open fires are strictly prohibited on the tent meadow. You can barbecue in the caravan area. For all tent campers, there are two public fire pits with large grills that can be used day and night.

Due to official regulations, only small camping gas stoves can be tolerated on the campsite!

Can I bring my own speakers?

Small speakers can be brought along. But loud continuous sound is not allowed. If the music stops on the main stage, it also stops on the campsite or is turned down to room volume.

This is very important to us, because our neighbors also want to sleep.

Is there a night's rest at the campsite?

We do not have a strict night's rest. You can talk, party and listen to music all night long - but all at a low volume, maximum room volume.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are very welcome here. However, dogs must be kept on a lead throughout the site and you should remember to bring poop bags to dispose of your dog's waste in the bins provided.

What is the toilet & shower situation like?

Festival guests can use our camping sanitary facilities as normal. There will also be mobile toilets on the festival site.

Is there band merchandise to buy?

Yes, there will be an extra merch area.
